Venkaiah Naidu conferred with highest Civilian Honour of Comoros


The Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu has conferred with Comoros’ highest civilian honour ‘The Order of the Green Crescent’ on 12 October 2019. He was given this honour by Comoros President Azali Assoumani.

  • Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu is on the official visit of Comoros and Sierra Leone from 10 October to 14 October. India and Comoros have signed six agreements, including defence cooperation and health. India will give USD 2 million lines of credit to Comoros.
  • Comoros’ highest civilian honour is’ The Order of the Green Crescent ‘. This honour was actually started by a Turkish organization. This honour was started in the year 1920. The aim of this organization is to ban de-addiction and drugs.
  • The Vice President announced financial assistance from India for Comoros. The Vice President’s announcement includes one million US dollars for medicine and medical equipment and one million US dollars for transportation development and the auto industry.
