Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu felicitated film-maker S S Rajamouli with the prestigious ANR National Award for his contribution to the Telugu film industry. S S Rajamouli has Directed the blockbuster fantasy drama movie Bahubali that has shattered all the records on Box Office.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu felicitated film-maker S S Rajamouli with the prestigious ANR National Award for his contribution to the Telugu film industry. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, also present at the function, recalled the contribution of A Nageswara Rao, popularly known as ANR, to the Telugu film industry.

S. S. Rajamouli (born Koduri Srisaila Sri Rajamouli) is an Indian film director and screenwriter, known for his works primarily in Telugu cinema. Although working in the mainstream medium, his films are noted for their technical finesse and craft. In 2016, he was honoured with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian honor for his contributions towards the field of Art.In 2017, he received the Telstra People’s Choice Award at theIndian Film Festival of Melbourne for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion .

The ANR National Award was instituted by the Akkineni International foundation in the honor of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. The award was given annually to recognize people for their lifetime achievements and contributions to the Indian film industry. ANR National Award was first awarded to veteran Bollywood actor Dev Anand in 2006.
