M K Sanu won the Mathrubhumi Literary Award

Eminent critic, biographer and orator M K Sanu has been chosen for the Mathrubhumi Literary Award for 2016 in recognition of his rich contribution to the Malayalam literature. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, a citation and a statuette.

Sanu is a famous critic, biographer and orator .He is chosen to be conferred for the award for his rich contribution to the Malayalam literature. Sanu has already received several honours,  including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, Vayalar Award,  Padmaprabha Award, Kendra Akademi Academy Award and Kerala  Sahitya Akademi Award.

Some of his important works are “Changampuzha Krishnapilla”, “Nakshtrangalude Snehabhajanam”, “Narayanaguru Swami”, “Mruthyunjayam”  “Kavyajeevitham”, “Viswasathilek Veendum American Sahityam”  and “Prabhatha Darshanam”.

Mathrubhumi Literary Award : 

Mathrubhumi Literary Award is a literary award instituted in 2001 by leading Malayalam daily Mathrubhumi. A sum of Rs. 2 lakh, a plaque and citation constitute the award.  The award is conferred as a recognition of a writer’s overall contribution to the Malayalam literature.
