The first e-waste clinic of India will be set up in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) have tied up to set up the clinic.
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) have joined hands to set up the country’s first e-waste clinic here, that would enable segregation, processing and disposal of waste from both household and commercial units.
It will be formed in compliance with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016. The electronic waste will be collected door-to-door or can be deposited directly at the clinic in exchange for a fee. Initially, it will be launched as a three-month pilot project and would be implemented in India, if successful.
