IBBI, SEBI signed MoU for better implementation of IBC :

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The IBBI and the SEBI seek effective implementation of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (Code) and its allied rules and regulations, which have redefined the debt-equity relationship and aims to promote entrepreneurship and debt market.

India–Africa Joint Field Training Exercise AFINDEX-19 started in Pune :

The 10 days long Africa-India Joint Field Training Exercise (AFINDEX-19) between the Indian Army and 16 African nations was commenced in Pune, Maharashtra on March 18, 2019 for training the participating contingents in Humanitarian Mine Assistance (HMA) and Peace Keeping Operations (PKO) under the United Nations Charter. It will be held in two locations in Pune viz. Foreign Training Node at Aundh Military Station and College of Military Engineering in Kirkee. The Indian army is represented by Maratha Light Infantry while African continent is comprised of 10 personnel, from each of the participating nations.

C Prem Kumar Clinched Gollapudi Srinivas award for his Tamil film ‘96’ :

C Prem Kumar who is a Cinematographer-turned-director, will be awarded with 22nd Gollapudi Srinivas National Award for his debut film Tamil ‘96’ on 12th August 2019 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The award is presented to debutant filmmaker by Gollapudi Srinivas Memorial Foundation in the memory of Gollapudi Srinivas who passed away while making his first project.

Vijit’ becomes the first Indian Coast Guard ship to visit Indonesia :

Highlighting the close maritime proximity between India and Indonesia, Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Vijit’ became the first-ever Coast Guard ship to visit Sabang, Indonesia. This visit of the coast guard ship follows from the first-ever-visit of Naval Ship INS Sumitra to Sabang in July 2018.

India bags 188 medals at Special Olympics World Games :

India won a total of 188 medals at the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi. The medals include 50 gold, 63 silver and 75 bronze medals. In table tennis India won four gold and one silver medal. In Judo, Sonu Kumar from Rohtak, Haryana won the gold medal by winning all three bouts. Muskan bagged a silver.

Pramod Sawant sworn in as Goa Chief Minister :

Pramod Sawant (45), former Speaker of Goa legislative Assembly and MLA from Sankhelim in North Goa was sworn-in as 11th Chief Minister of Goa, succeeding Manohar Parrikar, who died after a prolonged battle with advanced pancreatic cancer. He was given the oath of office and secrecy at Raj Bhavan by Goa Governor Mridula Sinha. The entire Cabinet of Manohar Parikkar has been retained.

Bandhan Bank gets RBI Nod to Acquire Gruh Finance :

Reserve Bank of India provided no objection to Bandhan Bank for the proposed acquisition of Gruh Finance. Gruh Finance Limited is an Ahmedabad headquartered Subsidiary of HDFC Limited. It is a Housing Finance Company (HFC) recognized by the National Housing Bank (NHB) and it was taken over in January by Bandhan Bank in a share-swap deal.
