Vice Admiral SN Ghormade takes over as the Chief of Staff at Eastern Naval Command :

A National Defence Academy (NDA) graduate, Vice Admiral SN Gharmade took charge as the Chief of Staff at Eastern Naval Command, Vishakhapatnam. SN Gharmade was commissioned into Indian Navy on 1st January 1984 and he had assumed command of Guided Missile Frigate INS Brahmaputra, Submarine Rescue Vessel INS Nireekshak and Minesweeper INS Allepey in his 35 years long career. He was honoured by President of India with Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) on 26th January 2017 and Nau Sena Medal in 2007.

Real Estate Conference CREDAI YouthCon 2019 organized by CREDAI  :

Annual Youth Conclave of Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (CREDAI), CREDAI YouthCon 2019 was held at the Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. It was the 3rd edition of the YouthCon.Theme:NexGEN – Next Generation. Gautam Chatterjee, Maharashtra RERA Chief,said that the main objective of RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority) is transparency with other objectives being projects to help builders overcome difficulties and improve trust between builders and buyers.

P C Mody appointed as chairman of CBDT :

Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has appointed senior IRS officer Pramod Chandra Mody as chairman of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). He will succeed Sushil Chandra, who was recently appointed Election Commissioner.He is 1982 batch Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax cadre). Prior to this appointment, he was a member in CBDT. CBDT is nodal policy-making body of Income Tax (IT) department functioning under Department of Revenue, Union Ministry of Finance.

India signed legal agreements with the World Bank :

The Government of India, Government of Himachal Pradesh (GoHP) and the World Banksigned a USD 40 Million Loan Agreement to help bring clean and reliable drinking water to the citizens of the Greater Shimla area, who have been facing severe water shortages and water-borne epidemics over the last few years.

Chemistry Nobel Prize Winner Manfred Eigen Passes Away :

German scientist Manfred Eigen, who jointly won the 1967 Nobel Prize for Chemistry, passed away aged 91. Eigen had won the prize for working on a method to calculate speeds of extremely fast chemical reactions, effected by disturbing the equilibrium by means of short energy pulses.
