SEBI Constituted Research Advisory Committee Headed By Sankar De :

Market regulator Security and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has constituted a ‘Research Advisory’ committee which will assist in formulating policy to undertake research relevant for development and regulation of capital markets. According to SEBI, the committee would comprise prominent financial economists and market practitioners. It will be headed by Sankar De.

Journalist Dinu Randive conferred with lifetime achievement award :

Veteran journalist Dinu Randive has been conferred with the lifetime achievement award by the Mantralaya and Vidhimandal Vartahar Sangh, an association of journalists covering Maharashtra legislature and secretariat.

Egypt to host 2019 African Cup of Nations :

Seven-time champions Egypt have won the hosting rights for the 2019 edition of the African Cup of Nations. Egypt beat South Africa by 16 votes to one at the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) Executive Committee.With just five more months for the tournament, Egypt has got a limited time to prepare for an event where a total of 24 teams will be participating.

World Hindi Day : January 10 :

Every year 10th January is celebrated as World Hindi Day to create awareness about the language of Hindi across the World and to present Hindi as an international language. The first world World Hindi Conference was organized in Nagpur.

Mohamed Salah named african footballer of the Year :

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been named as the 2018 Confederation of African Football Player of the Year. For the second consecutive year he has won the award. Egypt forward Salah, 26, beat Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane of Senegal and Arsenal and Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the title. He received the award at a ceremony in Senegal.

Women and Child Development Ministry launched campaign “Web- Wonder Women”  :

The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, has launched an online campaign, ‘#www: Web- WonderWomen’. Its objective is to recognize the exceptional women who have been driving positive agenda of social change via social media. The partners of the campaign are: Breakthrough and Twitter India.
