GeM and CCI signed MoU for fair environment In e-Marketplace :

Government e Marketplace (GeM) and Competition Commission of India (CCI)entered into an MoU to enable a fair and competitive environment in the e-Marketplace. Chairman CCI, A.K. Gupta, CEO GeM, S. Radha Chauhan were present on the occasion.  GeM is a state-of-the-art national public procurement platform of Ministry of Commerce and Industries, that has used technology to remove entry barriers for bonafide sellers and has created a vibrant e-marketplace with a wide range of goods and services. Competition Commission of India is a statutory body of the Government of India, responsible for enforcing the Competition Act, 2002 throughout India and to prevent activities that have an adverse effect on competition.

Ramit Tandon won Seattle Open :

Indian squash player Ramit Tandon defeated Egyptian Mohamed El Sherbini in the finals to win the Seattle Open, a PSA challenger squash Tour event. The top-seeded Indian, who rose to his career high ranking of 58 in the latest February list, won his first PSA title in the new year and fourth title overall in his career.

6th Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy Statement Released :

RBI has released 6th Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy Statement. On the basis of an assessment of the current and evolving macroeconomic situation at its meeting, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided Reduce the policy repo rate under the LAF by 25 basis points from 6.5% to 6.25% with immediate effect. Consequently, the reverse repo rate under the LAF stands adjusted to 6.0%, and the MSF rate and the Bank Rate to 6.5%. On the supply side, the FAE has placed the growth of real GVA at 7.0% in 2018-19 as compared with 6.9% in 2017-18.

India jumps 8 place to 36th on International IP Index 2019 :

India has jumped eight places to 36th position on the International Intellectual Property (IP) Index, which analyses the IP climate in 50 global economies, this year. India’s eight-point jump in 2019 from 44th position in 2018 is the highest increase among 50 nations mapped by the index. The index brought out by the US Chamber of Commerce’s Global Innovation Policy Center (GIPC) ranks countries based on 45 indicators that are critical to an innovation-led economy supported by robust patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secrets protection.

Vidarbha clinched second successive Ranji Title defeating Saurashtra :

Defending champions Vidarbha won the Ranji Trophy 2018-19,which is 85th season of the Ranji Trophy by defeating Saurashtra.This victory is their Successive victory since they won the Trophy last year.The Ranji Trophy is played from the month of November,2018 to 7th February 2019, in which 37 Teams Participated.Vidarbha won Rs.5 Crore Rupees.

Parmanu Tech 2019 was held in New Delhi :

Ministry of External Affairs and Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) organised Parmanu Tech 2019 in New Delhito  discuss the issues  related to Nuclear Energy and Radiation Technologies. The main motive of this conference is to showcase India’s capabilities in Nuclear Energy with environmental responsibility. Dr. Jitendra Singh delivered the keynote address at the conference.
