China launched its 2nd Generational data relay satellite, Tianlian II-01 :

China successfully launched its first second generational data relay satellite named Tianlian II-01 with the help of a Long March-3B Carrier rocket from Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in Sichuan Province.It was the 301st mission of the Long March carrier rocket series. The Satellite will provide, data relay, transmission services, measurement and control for China’s manned spacecraft, satellites and carrier rockets along with other non-spacecraft users.

Telangana Topped in eLearning training for field staff :

For the second year in succession, Telangana ranks number 1 in the e-Learning training program of theDepartment of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government India.During the financial year 2018-19, Dr. MCR HRD Institute enrolled over 20,000 field staff in different districts of the State to impart training on 12 soft skills modules and 3 domain-specific modules on RTI, Office Procedures, and Finance & amp; Accounts, apart from Sustainable Development Goals.

Odisha’s Kandhamal Haldi accorded GI tag :

Kandhamal Haldi, a variety of indigenous turmeric grown only in southern Odisha, has received Geographical indication (GI) tag from Intellectual Property India. It has been placed under Class-30 type trademark/GI for grains and agricultural, horticultural, and forestry products. This unique variety of turmeric is grown in Odisha’s southern hinterland. It is key cash crop of tribal people from Kandhamal district of Odisha.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Became First Lender to charge for UPI Use :

Kotak Mahindra Bank (Kotak) stated that it will charge customers for UPI transactions starting 1st of May 2019. For each Kotak Bank account, the first 30 UPI fund transfers will be free, after which a charge will be levied on all fund transfers from the bank account. This will be applicable across all platforms, including Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay or Truecaller Pay among others.

Dr Rajendra Joshi Conferred With ‘Pravasi Bhartiya Samman’ :

Swiss-based NRI scientist Dr Rajendra Joshi has been conferred with the Pravasi Bhartiya Samman Award by the President of India Ram Nath Kovind. The Indian Ambassador to Switzerland Sibi George handed over the award citation signed by the President to Dr Joshi at his residence in Switzerland.

Australia launched 7 Nation Military exercise in Indian Ocean :

Australia is conducting 7 nation Indian Ocean military exercise along with Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore. Australia sent 4 Naval Ships and one military aircraft along with 1000 security personnel making it one the biggest military exercise.
