PM Modi Laid Foundation Stone Of Paperless Vanijya Bhawan :

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Paperless Vanijya Bhawan in New Delhi. Once ready, the new building will house Department of Commerce. The building will accommodate about 1000 officers and staff. It will be a completely paperless office with state of the art facilities such as smart access control, central air-conditioning, video conferencing, and completely networked systems. The Department of Commerce is currently housed in Udyog Bhawan.

K Vijay Kumar appointed advisor to J&K Governer :

Retired IPS officer K Vijay Kumar has been appointed as an Advisor to the Governor of Jammu & Kashmir governor. Until recently, he was Security Advisor to the Union Home Minister. Besides, IAS officer BB Vyas has been appointed the Chief Secretary of the state.

Arijit Basu Appointed SBI’s New Managing Director :

The government appointed Arjit Basu as Managing Director of the country’s largest lender State Bank of India (SBI). He will fill the position that fell vacant following the elevation of Rajnish Kumar as the chairman. Now, after this, the SBI will have four managing directors. As per the SBI Act, the bank can have four managing directors. Mr Basu has held several key positions in various circles of SBI including the bank’s office in Tokyo, Japan.

KVIC adopted Jagatpur village in Delhi for Swachhata Abhiyaan :

The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has adopted Jagatpur village in Delhi for its Swachhata Abhiyaan. The sanitation drive by KVIC began with a plantation drive and ended with cleanliness drive along the bank of the Yamuna river.

International Widows’ Day :

International Widows’ Day is a global awareness day that takes place annually on 23rd June. The United Nations General Assembly decided to observe International Widows’ Day on 23 June each year to give special recognition to the situation of widows of all ages and across regions and cultures.

M. Scorsese to receive Lifetime Achievement :

Veteran director Martin Scorsese will be conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Rome Film Festival 2018. Martin Scorsese is an American director, producer, screenwriter, actor and film historian.

Memoir of Priyanka Chopra to be published in 2019 :

Bollywood Actor Priyanka Chopra will come out with her memoir in 2019 in which she will write about things which she has never spoken before. The memoir named ‘Unfinished’ is a collection of personal essays, stories and observations of the actor, producer, activist and UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
