Odisha CM announced KALIA scheme for farmers :

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik announced a Rs10,000 crore scheme for the overall development of farmers. Named Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA), the scheme will provide farmers with Rs10,000 a year at the rate of Rs5,000 each for Kharif and Rabi season. Additionally, crop loans of up to Rs50,000 will be interest-free under the scheme.

Infosys appointed Airtels Nilanjan Roy as new CFO :

Infosys Ltd has appointed Bharti Airtel Ltd’s global CFO Nilanjan Roy as chief financial officer. He replaces interim CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka, who will resume his responsibilities as deputy CFO. Roy spent 13 years with Airtel, before which he worked for 15 years with Unilever across their global operations.

22nd December : National Mathematics Day :

Every year, the country celebrated National Mathematics Day on December 22 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.  In his memory, the Government of India marked 2012, the 125th year of his birth, as National Mathematics Year and declared 22nd December as annual National Mathematics Day.

IDFC Bank & Capital First merged :

IDFC Bank completed the merger process with non-banking financial company ‘Capital First’. After the merger, ‘Capital First’ has been renamed as ‘IDFC First Bank’. V. Vaidyanathan is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the merged entity.

National Cancer Institute (NCI) opened in Jhajjar, Haryana :

India’s largest Cancer Institute, National Cancer Institute (NCI), has opened on 18th December 2018 in Jhajjar, Haryana for public services. The National Cancer Institute will be formally inaugurated in January 2019. The National Cancer Institute has been established under a project of Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).Dr G.K. Rath, head of Institute Rotary Cancer hospital at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi, will head the NCI.

40 workers conferred Prime Minister Shram Awards 2017 :

The Union Government has announced to confer the Prime Minister’s Shram Awards 2017 to 40 workers across country. These awardees have been selected among the workers of Departmental Undertakings & Central and State Government PSUs and Private Sector companies having 500 or more workers.
