PM Modi Unveiled World’s Tallest Statue In Gujarat :

PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s memorial on the leader’s 143rd birth anniversary in Gujarat’s Narmada district. Called the Statue of Unity, the bronze sculpture is the world’s tallest statue measuring 600 feet (182m) and overshadows China’s Spring Temple Buddha (153m) and USA’s Statue of Liberty (93m). The memorial was constructed in 33 months at Rs2,989 crore.

S. S. Deswal appointed as DG, ITBP :

The ACC has approved the appointment of Shri S. S. Deswal, IPS (HY: 84) as Director General, Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). He took charge from Shri R K Pachnanda, the outgoing DG of ITBP, who superannuated . An MHA order said that Shri Deswal will hold the additional charge of the post of DG, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) till further orders.

Pankaj Advani became 1st Indian to win Asian Snooker tour title :

Nineteen-time world champion Pankaj Advani has won the second leg of the Asian Snooker Tour in Jinan, China. Advani delivered a power-packed performance to outclass China’s Ju Reti 6-1 in the final and become the first Indian to win an Asian Snooker Tour event.

Malala Yousafzai will receive Harvard award for activism :

Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai is being honoured by Harvard University for her work promoting girls’ education. Harvard’s Kennedy School says she will be awarded the 2018 Gleitsman Award. The Gleitsman Award provides USD 125,000 for activism that has improved quality of life around the world.

Soura Jalanidhi’ scheme launched in Odisha :

Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik launched ‘Soura Jalanidhi’ scheme. It will increase use of solar energy for helping farmers in irrigation.‘Soura Jalanidhi’ is a dug well based solar pump irrigation system in convergence mode. The total cost of the scheme allocated by the state government is: Rs. 27.18 crore in the 2018-19 financial year.

Tata Steel named as official partner for the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018 :

Tata Steel was named as official partner for the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018 to be held from November 28 to December 16, at the Kalinga Stadium, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Tata Steel signed the agreement with the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2018 to promote development through sports in India.
