NITI Aayog Constituted Himalayan State Regional Council :
NITI Aayog has constituted the ‘Himalayan State Regional Council’ to ensure sustainable development of the Indian Himalayan region. The Council has been constituted to review and implement identified action points based on the Reports of five Working Groups, which were established along thematic areas to prepare a roadmap for action.
Yes Bank chairman Ashok Chawla resigned :
Ashok Chawla, Yes Bank’s non-executive chairman, stepped down with immediate effect. He resigned for the bank to find a new contender to fill in the Chairman’s duty. Apart from Yes bank, Chawla is also the chairman of National Stock Exchange since 2016. He had also worked as chairman of fair trade regulator CCI or Competition Commission of India.
World Tolerance Summit Inaugurated in Dubai :
The two-day summit to mark the World Tolerance Day was inaugurated in Dubai, the UAE. Held for the first time in UAE, the theme of the Summit was ‘Prospering from Pluralism: Embracing Diversity through Innovation and Collaboration’. The World Tolerance Summit brings together government leaders, key figures from the public and private sectors, peacekeeping ambassadors and change-makers from across the world to discuss the importance of tolerance, peace and equality, and celebrate diversity.
26th Conference of Central and State Statistical Organization (COCSSO) :
Union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation is organizing 26th Conference of Central and States Statistical Organizations at Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. The theme of this year’s Conference is ‘Quality Assurance in Official Statistics’.
