TCS became 1st Company to close over Rs. 7 Trillion Market Cap :

India’s IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) became first listed company in India to close day’s trade with market capitalisation (m cap) of over Rs. 7 lakh crore (over 103 billion dollar). M cap is value of company that is traded on stock market, calculated by multiplying total number of shares by present share price.

World’s Most Experienced Spacewoman Peggy Whitson Retires As Astronaut :

NASA’s record-breaking astronaut, Peggy Whitson, retired after a 22-year-long career. Whitson, who joined NASA as a researcher in 1986, has spent more time off Earth than any other American, totalling 665 days over three International Space Station missions.

10 day ‘Yoga Ambassadors Tour’ inaugurated by Ministry of AYUSH with Kerala Government :

As a part of Kerala government’s tourism promotion programme, ‘Yoga Ambassadors Tour’,a specialized trip for yoga professionals from around the world was inaugurated by Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Yesso Naik. It aims to design a wholesome yoga package for visiting tourists with well-known yoga destinations with related activities.

Nitin Gadkari Released ‘Water Productivity Mapping of Major Indian Crops’ book published by NABARD :

Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Shipping, Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari released a book ‘Water productivity mapping of major Indian crops’ published by NABARD in a function at New Delhi.The book ‘Water productivity mapping of major Indian crops’ is based on a study of 10 important crops by a team under the leadership of leading agricultural economist Dr. Ashok Gulati.

India won 3 Medals at Umakhanov Memorial Boxing Tournament :

Indian boxers bagged one Gold and two Silver medals at the Umakhanov Memorial Tournament in the Russian city of Kaspiysk. Saweety Boora won the coveted yellow metal in the Women’s 75 kg category after beating Anna Anfinogenova (Russia) in the Final. In the Men’s section, Brijesh Yadav in the 81 kg division and Virender Kumar in 91 kgs lost their Final bouts to settle for Silver medals. Earlier, India had claimed four Bronze medals in the Tournament.

Veteran journalist Adiraju Venkateswara Rao passes away :

80 year Old Veteran journalist and author Adiraju Venkateswara Rao passed away in Hyderabad, Telangana. His native is Khammam district. In a career spanning over five-and-a-half decades, he worked for several Telugu and English dailies and news agencies including Andhra Jyothi, Udayam, Deccan Chronicle, Indian Express, Himachal Times and Hindustan Samachar at Hyderabad and Delhi.
