India’s 1st Tribal Tourism Circuit Launched in Chhattisgarh :

Union minister K J Alphons, the Minister of State for Tourism, inaugurated the country’s first tribal circuit project connecting 13 tourism sites in Chhattisgarh. This project was sanctioned by the Ministry of Tourism in February 2016 for Rs. 99.21 Crores. The project was implemented under the Tourism Ministry’s Swadesh Darshan scheme launched in 2014-15 for development of thematic circuits in the country in a planned and prioritized manner. 

India born student Rajalakshmi Nandakumar will receive Young Scholar award :

Rajalakshmi Nandakumar, an India-born woman scholar in the US, has been chosen for a prestigious award for her work to help detect potentially life-threatening health issues using smartphones. She has been selected for the 2018 Marconi Society Paul Baran Young Scholar award.

Hindi Divas is celebrated on 14 September :

Hindi Divas is celebrated on 14 September because, on this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India had adopted Hindi written in Devanagari script as the official language of the Republic of India. Under the Article 343 of the Indian Constitution, on 26 January 1950, Hindi, written in Devanagari script was adopted as the official language.

Regional Conference on Good Governance held in Bhopal :

Regional Conference on Good Governance with Focus on Aspirational Districts was held in Bhopal, capital of Madhya Pradesh. It was organized by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DAR&PG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in association with Madhya Pradesh Govt.

ISSF World Championship: Udhayveer Singh Won Gold In Junior Men’s 25m Pistol Event  :

Sixteen-year-old Udhayveer Singh has won an individual Gold Medal in Junior Men’s 25- metre pistol event in the World Shooting Championships in South Korea. He also spearheaded India to the team Gold. The bronze medal went to Team Korea, which shot a score of 1721. India is placed fourth in the medals tally with 9 Gold, 8 Silver and seven bronze medals for a total of 24. 

D Shivakumar elected as Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) Chairman :

Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) appointed D Shivakumar, as its chairman for a term of 3 years.  D Shivakumar, is the former head of PepsiCo India. He is currently the Group Executive President, Corporate Strategy at Aditya Birla Group. Rohit Gupta, Sony Pictures Networks India President – Network Sales & International Business, was elected as the Vice-Chairman.
