65th National Film Awards announced

The 65th National Film Awards were announced in Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. The chairpersons of the three juries (Feature, Non-feature and Writing) for the National Film Awards have announced the awards for the different categories.

Late Veteran Actor Vinod Khanna Awarded Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Veteran Hindi film actor Shri Vinod Khanna was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian Cinema. This was announced during the 65th National Film Awards. 

Commonwealth Games 2018: Latest updates :

The Day 9 of Commonwealth Games kick started with the Indian shooters adding two gold and one silver to India’s total medal tally.

While, 15-year-old Anish Bhanwala became India’s youngest gold medalist in the 25m Rapid Fire final, in the women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions final, Indian shooters Tejaswini Sawant and Anjum Moudgil came out at the top by winning gold and silver medals respectively.

AIIB decides to invest USD 140M to improve Rural Connectivity in India :

The Board of Directors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) on April 12, 2018 approved USD 140 Million loan to improve rural connectivity in India.  The project aims to improve the rural road connectivity and management for residents of about 5640 villages who use the rural roads for daily activities.

Former DoPT Secretary Bhanu Pratap Sharma appointed chairman of Bank Board Bureau (BBB) :

Former DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training) Secretary Bhanu Pratap Sharma was appointed the Chairman of Banks Board Bureau (BBB) by the government. Bhanu Pratap Sharma succeeds Vinod Rai. Vinod Rai was appointed as the first chairman of BBB for a period of two years.
