Indian Air Force  launched Mobile Health App ‘MedWatch’ :

On the occasion of 86th anniversary, the Indian Air Force has launched an innovative mobile health App named ‘MedWatch’.  The app is conceived by the doctors of IAF and developed in-house by Directorate of Information Technology (DIT) with ZERO financial outlay. ‘MedWatch’ is the first mobile health app in the three Armed Services and was launched by Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa. 

Caroline Wozniacki won her 30th WTA singles :

Caroline Wozniacki won her 30th WTA singles title with victory over Latvia’s Anastasija Sevastova in the China Open final in Beijing.The 28-year-old Wozniacki, who won her maiden Grand Slam at the Australian Open at the start of this year, was imperious against the unseeded Sevastova, winning 6-3, 6-3. It is her second China Open crown as she also won it in 2010.

World Mental Health Day :

World Mental Health Day was observed on 10th October all over the world. The Theme for World Mental Health Day 2018 is ‘Young People and Mental Health in a Changing World’.

BPCL will Set Up India’s 1st Biofuel Plant In Odisha :

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) will complete commissioning of its second generation (2G) ethanol bio-refinery at Baulsingha village in Bargarh district of Odisha by 2020. The proposed plant will see an investment of Rs 1000 crore, the foundation stone of which was laid. This is the first biofuel plant in the country where ethanol will be produced from rice straw. 

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu presented “Ramineni Awards 2018” :

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu presented the ‘Ramineni Awards 2018’ in Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh. The Ramineni Foundation’s outstanding person award was presented to badminton coach Pullela Gopichand.He also presented special awards to: Telugu literary legend Garikapati Narasimha Rao, film director Nag Ashwin Reddy  and writer C Venkata Ramana.The outstanding person award carries a prize money of Rs 2 lakh and special awards carry Rs 1 lakh each.

Jharkhand, the partner state at Goa International Film Festival 2018 :

Jharkhand has announced to be the partner state in Goa International Film Festival 2018 which will be held on 20th to 28th of November, 2018.The decision was taken in meeting between Secretary of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ,Mr. Amit Khare and Chief Secretary of Jharkhand, Sudhir Tripathy at Ranchi. Furthermore, it was also decided to organize Jharkhand Film Festival, under Indian Panorama, in two towns of Jharkhand in January 2019.
