2 satellites were launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch center:

Pakistan launched 2 indigenously built satellites named PRSS-1 and PAK-TES-1A into the orbit from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China, through a Chinese-made launch vehicle.

India, South Korea signed agreements on trade and commerce :

Union Commerce and Industries Minister Suresh Prabhu and South Korean Trade Minister Kim Hyun-Chong signed agreements on trade and commerce.  Both the leaders (South Korean President and Prime Minister Modi) visited Samsung’s manufacturing site which is expected to produce 10 million units of mobile phones per month by 2020 under the ‘Make in India’ policy.

NITI Aayog released Paper On ‘National Health Stack’  :

The central government think tank NITI Aayog has unveiled the blueprint of ‘National Health Stack’ (NHS), a shared digital healthcare infrastructure. The blueprint is in line with the implementation of the Centre’s flagship scheme Ayushman Bharat and other public healthcare programmes in the country. According to a consultation paper titled ‘National Health Stack Strategy an Approach’, the National Health Stack will facilitate the collection of comprehensive healthcare data across the country.

6 Universities Granted ‘Institute of Eminence’ Status  :

The Union Government has granted the Institutions of Eminence (IoEs) status to six institutions including 3 from Public Sector and 3 from Private Sector. The decision was taken on the basis of the recommendations given by an Empowered Expert Committee (EEC).  The institutions are:  IIT-Delhi, IIT-Bombay and the Bengaluru-based Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in the public sector, and Manipal Academy of Higher Education, BITS Pillani and Jio Institute by Reliance Foundation in the private sector.

Prof. Sandeep Sancheti appointed as President of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi :

Dr. Sandeep Sancheti, Vice Chancellor of SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has assumed charge as the 97th President of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. The AIU has currently more than 720 members represented by Vice Chancellors.

Actor Kavi Kumar Azad passes away at 46 :

Actor Kavi Kumar Azaad, known for playing the character of Dr Hansraaj Hathi on popular sitcom “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma”, passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest.
