The 4-day 4th International Film Festival of Shimla “IFFS 2018” concluded in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.It was organised by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting in collaboration with Himalayan velocity, Department of Language & Culture (LAC) & Department of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Government of Himachal Pradesh.
The Festival will include Film Screenings and Competitions for Short, Feature, Documentary, Animation, Music Videos, Master Classes and Workshops on Film Making.Participants ranged from 23 countries including the US, Russia, Japan, Iran, Dubai, Argentina, Cyprus, Bangladesh, Canada, Israel, France, Australia, Belarus, Nepal among others.
A total of 80 international and national films were screened at the festival. The chief guest of the closing ceremony was famous writer and member of Sahitya Academy, S N Joshi. For the first time in the history of Indian film festivals, a special screening of the film festival was done at the Central Jail, Kanda.
The first ever International Film Festival of Shimla for Documentary, Short, Feature and Animation Films, Music Videos was held in the year Oct 2015. The mission of this film festival is to showcase the world’s best cinema and develop taste for good cinema among the youths and to provide platform for the Independent Filmmakers & to promote Himachali Cinema.
